The Lucent Dossier Experience

For the uninclined, The Lucent Dossier Experience is a collective of creatives who perform loosely interpretative performances that are part circus, part performance art and part live concert – a beautifully perfected experience that leaves attendees in wonderment. The troupe consists of a huge array of performers, from dancers, to singers, to musicians, to aerialists, to live artists and everything in between. They have performed at some of the most biggest music festivals in the world including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Burning Man and Electric Daisy Carnival.

We had the pleasure of attending The Lucent Dossier Experience at one of Los Angeles’ oldest and one of the most beautifully adorned venues, The Palace Theatre. The hour and half show, “When Lucent Met Herakut” was nothing short of spectacular. With overtones and themes reminiscent of many a love story, you wished and marveled to possibilities worlds away from just another Los Angeles night.

Sharing the stage with the eclectic cast was Herakut, two European street artists that collaborated on costumes, set decoration and even painted an amazing oversized live art piece throughout the performance. The match between Lucent and Herakut couldn’t be more perfect with Herakut’s illustrious imagination manifesting perfectly with the full blown experience that is Lucent. The music included two original pieces by one of our favorite bass producers, Stephan Jacobs, (who we had a chance to interview in 2010) which was a superb complement to the intense choreography of the Lucent dancers.

All-in-all, the entire “When Lucent Met Herakut” experience was a trip to a world of imagination, highly recommended for pretty much anyone. But if you enjoy heavy bass tunes intertwined with dancing, soulful singing, live art, some aerialists, fire throwers along with some intense costumes, you will definitely enjoy the Lucent Dossier Experience. Take the time to see them if you have the chance.

If you missed the first weekend of Coachella, The Lucent Dossier Experience will be headlining the Do Lab stage again this weekend. If you’re attending weekend 2, make sure you don’t miss it! Check out this video of them from the 2011 Coachella.
